Daily activity:
Thursday 21st: water temp 80.2 E 7-9mph in the a.m. / 82.0 S 7-10mph in the p.m. The water was clean. There was a good Spanish Mackerel bite this morning as you can see by Brenda’s catch. The afternoon saw more Spanish but a much slower bite. There were Ladyfish, Hardtails and a few Bluefish. Keith hooked a nice King Mackerel and immediately handed it off to Nory. After a good fight, the fish shot the pier and cut the line. It looked like it was between 25 and 30 pounds. At 5:30, two Kings popped up in front of the SE corner of the Tee. One looked at around 13 pounds, and the other one ate my bait. I was able to deck the small one that was about 6 pounds. The larger fish hit Hunter’s bait but didn’t get hooked. Just before sunset, Bonita came in chewing. Live bait was thick and included Speedos, Cigar Minnows, Spanish Sardine, plus a few Alewives and small Goggle Eyes.
Friday: water temp 80.8 SSE 14-17mph in the a.m. / 81.7 SSE 7-11mph in the p.m. The water was clean. There was a slow Spanish Mackerel bite all day. The SE corner of the Tee seemed to get most of the fish. Two small Bonita were caught. Lots of Ladyfish, Hardtails and a few Bluefish were decked. No King Mackerel were seen all day. Live bait was available, but you had to work for it.
Saturday: water temp 79.9 SE 8-12mph in the a.m. / 80.9 S 6-9mph in the p.m. The water was clean. Conditions were great but there were no King Mackerel. Only a few Spanish Mackerel, some Ladyfish and Hardtails were decked. Live bait was available.
Sunday: water temp 81.5 SSE 25-20mph in the a.m. / 8?.1 SSW 5-7mph wind in the p.m. The water was clear. Conditions and catches were about like yesterday. They did catch a few Red Drum in the shallow water. Gary helped a few visiting anglers catch their first Reds. They had a blast. Tarpon schools were passing and three were briefly hooked. Live bait was available.

Monday: water temp 80.8 SE 12-15mph in the early a.m., then SSE 15-20 until about 8:30. It switched to WSW 15-20 until 10:30 then almost calm until 3:00. There was rain and heavy rain all morning. The wind then began a steady increase out of the SE to 25-30mph in the p.m. The water temp rose to 81.7 by 5:30. The water was clean but rough. There was a mix throughout the day of Spanish Mackerel, small Bonita, Hardtails and Ladyfish. Brenda caught her limit of Spanish, but it took all morning and part of the afternoon. There were no King Mackerel even though conditions were perfect. Live bait was plentiful and consisted of Cigar Minnows, Speedos, Goggle-eyes, and Spanish Sardine.
Tuesday: water temp 80.8 ESE 10-12mph in the a.m. / 82.6 S 18-22mph in the p.m. The water was clean. There were small Spanish Mackerel, Bonita, Ladyfish and Hardtails. Again, NO Kings. George M. caught a Jack Crevalle on his bubble rig. Live bait was available.
