Daily activity:
Thursday 20th. water temp 84.2 ENE 3-5mph in the a.m. / 85.8 W 12-15mph. The water was silty. There was a good Spanish Mackerel bite early this morning. Jeff S. decked a nice Spanish. Hardtails were caught all day. A few Ladyfish were decked too. The King Mackerel fired up midafternoon as a thunderstorm passed. About 2:30, the wind increased to 22-29mph. There were three Kings caught within about 30 minutes. Allan S. got the first one that was 20.2 pounds. Then I got a small one that was about 10 pounds. A few minutes later I got a second one, that was 16 pounds. Later in the afternoon, Allan caught his second King.
Friday: water temp 84.0 NE 5- 7mph in the a.m. / 86.4WSW 9-12mph in the p.m. The water was almost clean until about 3:30 then the silty water returned. There were a few Spanish Mackerel this morning. There was one King Mackerel hooked but lost in the morning. The afternoon produced a few more Spanish Mackerel. Several Kings were seen but no hook-ups. Shallow water produced several Red Drum bites. Noah caught a 21” slot Red. Cigar minnows were plentiful for live bait along with good numbers of Alewives.
Saturday: water temp 85.8 SW 6-8mph in the a.m. / 87.8 W 12-15mph in the p.m. The water was almost clean. The report was Hardtails all day. Shane F. caught a King Mackerel midafternoon.
Sunday: water temp 85.8 WSW 6-10mph in the a.m. / 8?.3 WSW 9-13mph wind in the p.m. The water was silty.
Monday: water temp 86.4 W 8-10mph in the a.m. / 87.4 WSW wind 7-9mph in the p.m. The water was clean. There were a couple of Spanish Mackerel caught this morning. Also, Iquang caught his limit of Pompano. Early in the afternoon, Wayne W. caught 2 King Mackerel. One was about 6 pounds and the other 9-10 pounds. Late in the afternoon Wayne caught his third King. There were tons of Cigar Minnows and some Alewives available for live bait.
Tuesday: water temp 84.2 NNE 3-6 in the a.m. / 87.1 WSW 9-12mph in the p.m. The water was clean. There were a few Spanish Mackerel and Pompano this morning. About 2:00, I hooked a nice King Mackerel that took two 100 yard runs only to have the hook to pull as I brought it in. A few minutes an undersized King was caught. Then K.J. decked a King that was 8-9 pounds. There was Cigar minnows, Alewives, Hardtails and Spanish Sardine available for live bait.
Wednesday 26th. water temp 85.5 NNE 4-5mph in the a.m./ 87.8 WSW 5-8mph in the p.m. The water was clean. A few Spanish Mackerel, Hardtails, Yellowtail Jacks and big Ladyfish were caught. Danny decked the only King Mackerel midafternoon. It was 6-7 pounds. Squid were eating our King baits. There were Cigar minnows, and Alewives available for live bait.
Red Tide status: As of the latest FWC update for August 21, 2026, Karenia brevis (the red tide organism) was not observed in any samples collected from or offshore of Northwest Florida counties, including Escambia, Okaloosa, Walton, Bay, Gulf, Franklin, Wakulla, Levy, Citrus, Hernando, and Pasco.
