Poor Conditions

Event Start Date: 2024/09/19

2024/09/19

Wind, rain, and rough water brought poor fishing conditions for the beginning of this report period. Overnight storms left us with dirty water by Thursday morning. It took all week for it to begin to clear. Friday, as expected, the dirty water produced small sharks, catfish, ladyfish and Hardtails. By Sunday, a few fish began to return. It was a slow week. Species caught were: King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Pompano, Hardtails, Ladyfish, Yellowtail Jacks, and a surprie Octopus. Bait was available and consisted of Cigar minnows, small Alewives and small Hardtails.

King Mackerel catches were few. We had one small one caught Sunday, a couple of bites Monday, and Hai decked one Tuesday afternoon on a Colt Sniper.

A few Pompano have begun to move through the shallow water. Sunday one angler caught a nice size, Pomp. Then, there were a few keepers decked Wednesday.

Wheels N’ Waves car show Saturday, Sept. 28th from 08:00am to 1:00pm at the M. B. Miller Pier. The show is free and there will be food trucks on site. Parking will be affected on the east side of the pier so plan ahead.
