Event Start Date: 2026/03/06

2026/03/06

Daily activity:

Thursday 26th.: water temp 60.8 S 12-17mph in the a.m. / 62.1 SSE 9-14mph in the p.m. The water was silty and rough. A few Bluefish were caught. Correction on yesterday’s report of a Black Drum: The visiting angler who caught the fish was from Illinois He was told it was a Black Drum but instead it was a nice Sheepshead. Steve caught the fish using a piece of dead Shrimp on the bottom with the rod stuck in the rail. The fish bent the rod over after swallowing the bait. Steve had to hand line the fish over the rail. He was told it was a Drum, so he threw it back. Just proves you never know what you’ll catch pier fishing.

Friday: water temp 91.9 S 5-10mph in the a.m. / 61.5 SE 2-5mph in the p.m. then N just before sunset. The water was a little silty. There were a few Bluefish and some under sized Flounder caught.

Saturday: water temp 61.7 NNE 5-8mph in the a.m. / 62.1 NE 6-12mph in the p.m. The water was silty. There were lots of Squid after sunset. A few Bluefish and a couple of small Flounder were caught.

Monday: water temp 62.2 E 8-13mph in the a.m. / 65.0 SSE 8-11 in the p.m. The water was clean. The morning was slow with only a few Bluefish and a couple of small Flounder. The afternoon started slowly, but Jack got four Bull Reds in a row, about 4:30. Squid came in late afternoon, but the bite was good. Brenda got almost 100 by 7:00pm. Check out these that Brenda, George, Ivan and Dave got.

Tuesday: water temp 63.9 E 7-14mph in the a.m. / 65.7 SSE 5-8mph in the p.m. The water was clean outside of the sand bar but silty from there to the beach. The most unusual catch of the day was Kim getting a Seahorse on her Squid jig.

Wednesday 04th.: water temp 64.2 ESE 9-14mph in the a.m. / 65.1 WSW 4-7mph in the p.m. The water was clean at the end but silty from the sand bar to the beach. Squid bit all day.
